There are many things to do during vacation. Many children read lots of books and learn new things. Some kids also go abroad to learn English. So, do you have any special plans during this winter vacation? Studying hard is of course important, but why don’t you also plan to do some fun activities as well? Here, Ellie and Billy are talking over the phone about their vacation plans.
Ellie: Hello? Is Billy there? This is Ellie speaking.
Billy: Oh, Ellie, hi! How are you doing these days?
Ellie: I’m bored! Let’s do something fun! I don’t want to just stay at home every day. I want to do something special and exciting.
Billy: Hey, it’s freezing outside. Why don’t we just play video games together? You can come over to my place.
Ellie: That’s not a very special thing. Don’t you have any new ideas on how to spend our vacation?
Billy: Well, I just planned to read many books at home and play video games! What about you, Ellie?
Ellie: I want to visit many interesting places - for example, go to museums, attend music concerts, and participate in winter festivals.
Billy: Hey, winter festivals sound like fun! Why don’t we go to a fun winter festival together tomorrow? Tomorrow is Saturday and my dad doesn’t go to work. I’ll ask him to take us to a fun place where we can play in the snow and participate in many fun winter activities.
Ellie: That’s a great idea, Billy! Hey, why don’t we visit interesting museums, too? Let’s make plans together and visit a new museum every weekend. I’m sure we will learn many things and see some good exhibits.
Billy: Sounds great! Ok, then, let me ask my dad first. I’ll call you back in about an hour. In the mean time, you can search the Internet for interesting museums we can go to!
